For ‘Magnetic II’
From francois35420 on Jamendo
Super album !!!! 5/5
Translation: A very good album, of a level definitely higher than the two first which were already good. The promises which I had placed in you became certainty: you have an enormous potential! Here still, it is a very good electronic coffee-table book glossed of pop and rock'n'roll, which gives something very good, really very pleasant to listen. The instrumentation is good, you found good proportioning between the instrumentation électronqiue and the instrumentation known as traditional. The melodies all are really very beautiful and are well rythmées. Magnétic; it is like wine, that improves with time... A very good album, really: cheer
From loucour on Jamendo
En deux mots 4/5
“tres interessant a ecouter”
Translation: In two words very interesting listen…
There was also a review from david aubrun on Jamendo, which was not as good. My translator is not all that great and didn't translate well...So, I will paraphrase it (at least as far as I can understand)...'He didn't really like it...not his musical taste...there is work to be done...it is somewhat lacking in feeling...but it is a good continuation"
I think that sums it up pretty well.
So...if you listen to any of the albums, PLEASE....send me a reveiw. Let me know what you think !!!!

What's up with Magnetic...
Well, we have a lot on the go. Firstly, I am going to publish our first two albums to a really cool new site called JAMENDO. You can go here to get a lot of really cool new music and stuff. All the music is free and falls under the creative commons license for distribution. So, that means, you can download the tunes, burn 'em to a disc, and give em to all your friends!!! Music shouldn't be about commerce, thats how I feel. Once I have my profile completed, I will pass on the link.
I plan to begin remastering the first album and putting together new artwork for both. The first one up on the site should be 'The Desolation Coast', which is a 9 song release. It features the tracks:
enter
the desolation coast
the angle between us (pt. one)
neurotica
stillness (for ew)
the angle between us (pt. two)
impulse response
from the magnetic shore
exit
This album was recorded between December 2003 and August 2004. It is also far more ambient than the second album.
Also being posted is [the magnetic north] album. This is the second cd that I have officially released. It contains the following tracks:
your only truth
revision
moving claims
holes
on this astral plain
retrace
approximately sometimes
piano #3
paper dolls
hearts
This album began its life sounding even more ambient than the last, but slowly my rawk sensibilities kicked in and took hold of the songs and turned them in to more straight forward tracks.
Also, I still am working on the new album, 'magnetic II' which should be completed and available soon. It has been a long process, almost a year, but I have learned a lot and I think my sound has been defined somewhat.
This album is certainly waaaaaaay more rock than the others (i guess it is in the 'post rock' genre, perhaps?) and there is more 'structure' to the tracks. Part of the reason it has taken so long is that once I had decided on the tracklisting (16 of around 25 songs recorded) and begun mixing, I was unsatisfied with some of the sounds. So, I redid almost all the drums, some bass, and add some more stuff to fill them out. Anyway, it is now almost done...final mixing stage...then mastering...then up. 'magnetic II' will see a release by early September.
Here is the tracklisting (order subject to change):
31 pt. monitor
isolation
unsound
whitehorse
discrete
opportunities
the economist
moving claims (alternate version)
radiotelephone
golden
hearts (alternate version)
discrete II
may '73
recession proof
our revolution
So, that is it for now
